San Juan County Partnership, located in Farmington, New Mexico, is a community action agency, facilitating collaboration and resource identification and sharing. The Partnership raises the awareness of prevention efforts, supports community planning activities and projects, serves as a forum for community input, networking and resource sharing, and provides prevention programming for youth and families. Those who benefit from the Partnership are community agencies and organizations, government and private business, schools and families.
 


The San Juan County Partnership was established in November 1991 through a grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. It was established to reduce the prevalence and incidence of alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse. Since then, the Partnership has expanded its mission to address prevention awareness and community wellness.

Substance Abuse Prevention Trainings
Develop skills in identifying behaviors which indicate early substance use or abuse, strengthening positive behavior skills, families and family support systems. Call for a complete list.

Coordination of Services
Serve as umbrella agency for community coalitions and cooperative efforts, addressing assessment of needs, strategic planning, funding issues, interagency communication and development of coordinated systems, including policies and procedures.

Resource Center
Provide information, consultation, networking, public awareness of community events, directories, databases and newsletters.

Community Organizing
Organize community projects and promote community awareness of issues such as: cultural interaction and competency, DWI accidents and fatalities, juvenile concerns, housing and a continuum of human services.

Specific Service Contracts
Provide site specific contracts for prevention programming, training, facilitation, coordination of planning, resource identification and advocacy.
