Youth Cigarette Use: It is
noted that 31% of the youth in San Juan County smoke their first cigarette
before the age of 13, compared to 25% of youth nation-wide. Most kids have
tried to quit than say they smoke regularly.
Youth Cigarette Use: Tobacco related questions from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. The YRBS was administered to New Mexico high school students in 1999.
- Lifetime Cigarette Use: "Ever tried cigarette smoking, even 1 or 2 puffs."
